Sustainable development is an integral part of the ArtikFest identity. A number of environmental, social and economic initiatives have been put in place to minimize the event’s ecological footprint, integrate a supportive and responsible approach that contributes to offering festival-goers a quality experience, and generate significant spin-offs for the region.

ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECT

The organization is multiplying its actions in terms of sustainable transport, reusable and compostable materials, and awareness-raising to make the event greener and encourage festival-goers to adopt significant eco-responsible practices.

• On-site sorting and recycling;

• STTR public transit offered free of charge during the event;

• Bicycle park adapted for fat bikes, accessible free of charge at the site entrance;

• Use of 100% recyclable aluminum cans and plastic bottles on site;

• Reusable water bottles available to artists in dressing rooms;

• Use of recyclable and compostable glasses for hot drinks in bars on the main site;

• Ecocup glasses available to festival-goers in bars on the main site;

• Water fountain available to all teams and volunteers;

• Distribution of reusable coffee cups to all team members;

• Recycling of banners and various materials (posters, wood, metals, etc.);

• Facilities powered 100% by hydroelectricity;

• Clear signage on FestiVoix sites regarding sorting and recycling;

• Replacement of plastic fasteners with reusable elastic straps to secure displays;

• Encouragement of carbon offsetting by festival-goers and media via the Éclore fonds environnement Trois-Rivières platform;

• Awareness campaigns and promotion of eco-responsible practices among festival-goers;

• Offsetting of all GHGs generated by the event and artists via the Éclore’s voluntary carbon market.

SOCIAL ASPECTS

A rendezvous for culture, electronic music and innovation, ArtikFest is an inclusive, high-quality event designed by and for the community, with the aim of promoting and making culture more accessible, encouraging the emergence of innovative artistic and cultural projects in Trois-Rivières, and showcasing the region’s various artists, players and initiatives!

• Very affordable pricing policy;

• A diversified musical program for all tastes, with renowned, emerging and local DJs;

• Shows and activities designed for electro fans and families;

• $5,089 in ticket donations to local charities and community organizations in 2024;

• $7,963 in fundraising donated to the Éclore Fonds Environnement Voluntary Market and other organizations in 2024;

• A main site accessible to people with reduced mobility;

• Multi-disciplinary, innovation-focused programming offered free of charge to professionals from the Trois-Rivières business community, including conferences, panels and trade shows;

• Free admission for children aged 10 and under.

• Redistribution of 204 beverages, 5.75 kg of ground coffee, 10 lb of fresh fruit and 358 unused snacks at Centre Le Havre

ECONOMIC ASPECT

ArtikFest is proud to be associated with local producers and to contribute to the vitality of the cultural ecosystem in the Trois-Rivières region through its local purchasing policy and its collaboration with local businesses. With its large-scale musical program, the winter event, which takes place during a low-traffic period, attracts tourists, maximizing the economic, tourism and cultural spin-offs for the entire community.

• Hundreds of thousands of dollars in economic and tourism spin-offs;

• Nearly 90% of spending, purchases and equipment rentals from local businesses;

• Over 85% of consumer products distributed in the bars are sourced from local businesses;

• Over 75% of advertising investments and placements in the region with local media;

• Partnerships with 6 local bars to offer exclusive programming during ArtikFest;

• Partnerships with 2 local hotels to offer exclusive accommodation packages during the event.
